Small Animal Vet – Alternate Weekends

£10,000 per annum (with possibility of some weekday work in addition to weekend hours)  | Part Time  | Pride Veterinary Centre – Derby (but covering all FO practices within the business)

We are one of the largest providers of veterinary care locally, and have opened three new practices in the last year, continuing our growth. Our principal site is on Pride Park, Derby, where we provide first opinion treatments plus referral services for own clients and other practices. We have our own dedicated night team.

We have 11 community practices who provide quality care, with well-equipped on-site facilities and lots of returning customers who want that friendly team feel. This role will support all sites, taking your skills to different locations when needed.

The team

Our Vets are supported by a professional and caring team of practice nurses.

Although we have an organised plan and structure for the daily consults, events happen and things change. This is when this team proactively adjust and adapt their workloads to ensure most importantly that emergency cases receive immediate care while our existing customers for that day aren’t overly inconvenienced by any changes.

You will need to be confident in making decisions, happy to mix with different teams and build relationships quickly.

Your role

This is a great role for someone looking for a good work/life balance. You will be working Saturday and Sunday, alternative weekends, from 8am – 6pm, when our dedicated night team take over. The role will focus on providing excellent inpatient care, and emergency admits, to ensure our top-quality care is not compromised. We also take in cases from our own and other local practices.

Client facing skills are integral for this 1st Opinion Vet position. We have a regular returning customer base so naturally having the skills to build long term relationships is an asset. You will expand your knowledge and skills by working closely with other members of the first opinion and referral teams.
