Pride Veterinary Centre is a teaching hospital, in collaboration with University of Nottingham Veterinary School. This provides the opportunity to support teaching and research interests as well as the chance to teach the next generation of veterinary professionals.

The hospital is located on Pride Park which is in close proximity to Derby city centre, Nottingham and the Derbyshire Dales. There are excellent air links from nearby East Midlands and Birmingham airports, as well as a high-speed train service to London, within 500 yards of the hospital.

The hospital has 13 consultation rooms, 6 inpatient wards and an ICU, 5 fully equipped theatres, a 16 slice CT scanner, a 1.5 Teslas MRI, arthroscopy, fluoroscopy, laparoscopic and thorascopic equipment, Biomedtrix hip kit and standard and locking plate systems. The referral hospital combines the benefits of a specialist led, multidisciplinary team with the flexibility of being independently owned.


The team

The team delivers specialist led care in surgery, neurology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, anaesthesia and imaging. The friendly teams collaborate to deliver high standards of care to all our patients. Our team of 4 surgeons enjoy both soft tissue and orthopaedic work, with a varied and challenging caseload. The surgery team also benefit from a resident, 2 surgical interns and dedicated nursing team. We also have our own night service for inpatient care throughout the night.


Your role

Pride Veterinary Centre is looking for a specialist with enthusiasm and passion to work in our purpose built, state of the art referral hospital in Derby. The referral hospital combines the benefits of a specialist led, multidisciplinary team with the flexibility of being independently owned. Applicants should be Diplomates of the European or American College of Veterinary Surgeons or have completed an ECVS or ACVS approved small animal surgery residency. You must hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS.

A generous salary package, is supplemented with an allowance of 33 days holiday plus 10 CPD days and other benefits such as health insurance and pension scheme.
