The team

Oncology is a friendly and supportive team. It is a busy discipline in which we all support each other’s physical and mental capacity ensuring we are getting the best out of each other. Working with diploma holding vets, residents, interns and anaesthesia. You will also work in oncology alongside medicine nurses, as well as ward nurses and dedicated nurses from other disciplines. Cases can be discussed within the team and with the interns and residents.


Your role

In this new and exciting position, you will be able to be hands on and work alongside our current oncology nurse and clinician. Caring for chemo patients on a daily basis both for visits for receiving chemo and periods of hospitalisation.

You will also be responsible for the monitoring of, sedation and general anaesthesia for new patients admitted for staging prior to chemo, as well as helping to manage interventional radiology patients.

The role consists of a 35-hour week, spread over 4 days (Monday-Thursday) with 3x8.5hr and 1x9.5hr shifts. The role also consists of 1:6 full weekends, as well as one/two bank holidays per year. You will also be required to do night cover/on call cover pro rata.
